Job summary

A Load Control Agent ensures that the aircraft is always within the defined weight and trim limits and also ensures the safety of the flight and passengers. No prior technical knowledge is necessary. All the trainings are provided by our company.

Job description

By providing the weight and balance services to our customers and managing the many steps that need to be taken care of before a flight can actually depart, the Load Control Agent at Global Load Control forms our core business and a crucial part in the flight handling process. Core responsibilities as a Load Control Agent are as below:

  • Weight and balance calculation of Lufthansa and customer airline flights globally
  • Checking and monitoring the planned figures of passengers, bags, cargo and mail
  • Issuing the documentation for the complete flight handling process including loading instruction and load sheet
  • Communication with the various stakeholders providing (loading) instructions and managing the Global Load Control brand externally

Job qualifications

 

  • Fluent knowledge of both English and German languages is necessary
  • Sense of Responsibility (e.g. As a GLC Agent you are responsible for the safety of the aircraft and its load)
  • Ability to think logically and prioritize under extreme time pressure (e.g. what to do first, in which order and when to ask for help)
  • Ability to work according to a fixed framework of procedures
  • Detail orientated (e.g. make sure that all information received and entered is correct, double check everything)
  • Stress resistance (e.g. managing different processes simultaneously, remaining calm in unforeseen situations)
  • Ability to multi-task (e.g. managing phone calls, system up-dates and other queries simultaneously)
  • Ability to deal with many unforeseen interruptions from stakeholders and colleagues
  • Ability to work in a diverse team
  • Good and clear communication skills (e.g. get a point across in a quick and friendly manner)
  • Flexibility to work shifts (GLC is a 24/7/365 business)
  • Agility (GLC is an ever-changing and evolving company)
  • Keyboard proficiency / computer literacy
