Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy

£56,350 – £63,362
London, SW1

This is media and press relations at the heart of Whitehall – at an unprecedented time for government communications. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy leads the Government’s relationship with business as it builds an economy that works for all. This is a chance to shape our communications strategy during and after our withdrawal from the European Union. It’s a once-in-a-career opportunity.

Our work is built on an ambitious modern Industrial Strategy, driving innovation and investment in UK markets to ensure the economy is fit for the future. As part of the senior management team, you’ll lead comprehensive media handling plans for everything within the Department’s remit, including energy security, climate change, mergers and takeovers, to workers’ rights, science and innovation.

As well as leading large teams, you’ll be very much on the frontline: representing the team to ministers, other departments and senior stakeholders as well as journalists.

It’s a challenge for a deeply experienced communications expert; a proven manager with a talent for nurturing excellence navigating complex political landscapes.

In return, there’s a range of benefits to enjoy, including a Civil Service pension and opportunities to develop both new skills and your career.

Company

We deliver around 70 per cent of the recruitment volume across the Civil Service and aspire to be the recruitment partner of choice for all Civil Service departments, agencies and approved non-departmental public bodies.
